Microsoft will make gamers in the UK to buy films through its Xbox 360 console. Films like the Matrix, the Harry Potter series and Ocean’s 11 will be seen in the market after Xbox 360 becomes the first games console to offer a video-on-demand service, Live Marketplace Video Store, including about forty popular film titles in standard and high definition in six countries. You have to pay between £2 and £4.50 for one film and you can watch the movie within fourteen days after download. To download games and music videos about 60% of Xbox lovers already go online through Xbox Live. Robin Burrowes, the Xbox Live UK marketing manager said, “We’ll have a variety of family-led propositions, controls and broader content that will appeal more to families, the key proposition is built around choice, which will grow over time. We believe that this is a convenient opportunity for people, because their card details can be stored in the Xbox so they can download instantly.”

According to scientists, smoking as the leading cause of lung cancer is the only public health threat slightly larger than the threat of aggression provoked by video games. All we know that smoking is injurious to health just like this, playing violent video games is not good for children’s future. But it does not mean that every child is affected to the violent video games, there are many students who play violent games but they have full control at their social life they behave very well, very intelligently while talking to others and at their work too. Watching Violent TV Programs and playing violent video games makes kids and adults more aggressive. L. Rowell Huesmann, the Amos N. Tversky Collegiate Professor of Communication Studies and Psychology, and a senior research scientist at the U-M Institute for Social Research said “The research clearly shows that exposure to virtual violence increases the risk that both children and adults will behave aggressively.” Children lives in America spend three to four hours daily watching violent programs. Mr.Huesmann said “Exposure to violent electronic media has a larger effect than all but one other well-known threat to public health. The only effect slightly larger than the effect of media violence on aggression is that of cigarette smoking on lung cancer.” Continuing the discussion he said “As with many other public health threats, not every child who is exposed to this threat will acquire the affliction of violent behaviour. But that does not diminish the need to address the threat—as a society and as parents by trying to control children’s exposure to violent media to the extent that we can.”

ASU’s School of Global Management and Leadership is presenting video gaming to its classrooms to educate students about competing in business on three levels: information technology, process management and operations. The School has a partnership with IBM which will help students building up a specific set of business and information technology which is highly demanding in today’s global marketplace. Computer and video games are used as educational and training tools. It gives a feeling of game but it teaches students in a very nice manner. Pierre Balthazard, director of the school’s graduate programs said “This is a 21st century version of the ‘meat and potatoes’ core business courses that deal with technology, IBM has developed a unique and exciting platform to present complicated material in a way that will engage the students.” He also said “we believe this is cutting edge and will be of tremendous benefit to our students and faculty.”

A six years old child caught fire while playing video game; firefighters went out to the apartments on Dellway Villa Road in North Nashville. Fire investigators said the child named Ke-Ke Whitlow was playing his Nintendo Game Cube when a fire started. First child’s cloths got burn and then the child himself, twenty percent of his body burned. The first grader talked to his grandmother in the emergency room, “And I asked him, do he know what happened, and he said yes. And I said, what happened, he told me, he said, ‘My plug caught on fire,’” said the child’s grandmother, Vickie Southern. The investigator took a small televison and video game from Ke-Ke Whitlow’s home to test and to come to know what exactly happened to the child.
