Violent Games Make Kids More Aggressive
By Teddy Peterson on November 12th, 2007
Douglas Gentile, a researcher in Iowa State University says Kids become more violent when they play violent Video games. He studied on about twenty five hundred kids and came to know that the kids actually learn from the violent video games and create hostile environment, and become vicious. Gentile is an assistant professor of psychology, and discussed his conclusion with his father, who is a professor in New York.Gentile says he studied basic students, high school students, and college going students and found that kids who play multiple violent games are more aggressive in point of fact. Gentile says educational games should be used but these games are not easy to find out, multiple millions of dollars was spend on the new “Halo 3″ game, at the same time as only about ten thousand dollars is spent on most educational software. Douglas also says that students become violent by the teaching techniques but the same technique can work in a good way. If the game shows “pro social motives” then the game player will automatically become more pro social.
